Fraser) presented at yesterday's meeting of the Horowhenua County Council. The report added that the reservoir had been cleaned and the mains blown out. A start had been made in the sinking of a new well at Waimeha. A five-inch diameter casing had been driven to a depth of approximately 35 feet. Pumping tests were carried out at various depths and the highest recorded supply was 3000 gallons per hour at a depth of 29 feet. ."It would appear from observations made during the sinking of the well that there exists an impervious layer between the 20 feet and 26 feet levels, so that the new supply should be entirely isolated from the existing supply," concluded the report.
