WELLINGTON, This Day. For the past week there- has been strong demand in Wellington and Christchurch for the Otaki trained Soneri ln the Stewards' Handicap, to be decided on the opening day of the C.J.C. Cup meeting tomorrow week. News has been travelling that Soneri will take her place in the Stewards' Handicap in preference to the New Zealand' Cup, and will again have W. J. Broughton as her jockey. Pencillers here and in Christchurch have been rushed for odds about Longsword and Soneri, some refusing to entertain any further inquiries. Broughton has been announced as Longsword's Cup rider.
