Other candidates* who drew attention to their prospects were Langue d'Or, Flirtatious, ttay Stroller, Petre Mar and Rink. Although rain fell during the close of operations, early conditions were good, and the No. 1 grass track provided excellent going. The stablemates Langue d'Or (Buchanan) and Saludos (Sellars) were associated over a mile in 1.45 3-5, the last iive furlongs being run in 1.4 3-5. It was a sound trial and, although they finished on terms, Langue d'Or appeared to be going the better. He is bearing a particularly well-trained appearance and can be expccted to make a forward showing in the Manchester Handicap. Broielield (Sellars) strode over a mile, the last seven furlongs occupying 1.33 1-5. Flying Ace (Waddell) infused plenty of dash into his task over a mile in 1.46 2-5, the last three furlongs being ruu in 40sec. He has definitely improved with recent racing, and is expccted to make "a bold showing on Saturday. The two-ycar-old Senior Wrangler (Boreham) *had the better of the Nightly lilly (Rouse) over half a mile in 52 *3-5sec. Hakim (Amey) jumpcd away in the vicinity of the mile and a half post and, joined by Dileas (Bowness) at the six furlongs, was timed to complete the last mile in 1.4S 3-5. They rau the six furlongs in 1.20 and the liual three in 40 2-5see. Hakim was staving on solidly at the end and is thriving on his New Zeaiund (Jup preparation. ' A Fast Sprint After running the lirst two in 20scc., Wir Bradbury (Broughton) was travellhtg comfortably at the end of iive furlongs in 1.6. By reeling off five 'furlongs in 1.2, Flying Orders (Sellars) set the main among the sprinters. The Lwo-year-old Petre Mar (Ewan) was under restraint to stay with Bo Tez (Wuddell) over half a mile in 50 J-5sec. Skilled (Amey) was not bustled to ,eover a mile in 1.48, the last seven furlongs in 1.31 3-5. He is to be tried over a middle distance at Feilding. Novice Plcascs Fiirlatious (Aitkeu) fiuisked three lengths ahead of Balcairn (Collins) over seven furlongs in 1.31 3-5, a smart efEort. The former would only require to repeat her track form to be diilicult to beat in the Aorangi Trial Plate. Welcouie Guest (Harris) easily accountcd for Commercial (Boreham) over iive furlongs in 1.6 2-5. Cramond Bay (Waddell) and Newel Post (Christen3en) traversed an easy mile, the last seven furlongs requiring 1.39. Cinerous (Broughton) sprinted three furlongs comfortably in 38 3-5sec. Imperial (Sellars) was responsible for the outstauding effort over a distance by recording 1.44 2-5 for a-mile. He went in effortless style, and carue home, the tinal three furlongs in 39 2-osee. the second day at Feilding, w'as allotted a mile, being timed to complete the last six furlongs iu 1.19) and the three in 38 3-5sec. Matawene (Harris) covered the last Iive furlongs of her work in 1.6 4-5. Tremcllo (Broughton) was under restraint while running seven furlongs in 1.33 2-5. Tlieiolyn (Ewan) ran home the last iive furlongs of his work in 1.8. Dutch Ma'ry (Suunders) recordcd 1.21 for six furlongs. Indira (Harris) covcred tivc furlongs in 1.4, Fen (Bain) requiring 1.6 1-5. The Jumpers Rink (Andrews) gavc his bcst showing as a jumper to date by finishing ahead of Peach King (Buchanan) in a bout over four hurdles. Both fenced clcanly, but the former had too much pace for his companion. Theolaberal (Miss Whitc) cleared four hurdles, but his display was not particularly impressivc.
