BOTTLE DRIVE TOMORROW

SCOUX JAMBOREE FUND A reminder is e"iven that the scouts hope to continue their bottle drive tomorrow, Saturday, by collectihg in those streets which they were not able to reach a fortnight ago. Old rags and newspapers, as well as any kind of bottle, will be collected, and if they are placed at the householders' gates the action will be greatly anpreciated and save time. The first day of the bottle drive brought in over £33, including more than £4 for newsnapers, and with the fund now standing at £78, it is hoped that tomorrow's effort will bring it to over £100. Some concern has been felt at a rumour emanating from Auckland that not more than 100 New Zealand scouts would be permitted to attend- the jamboree. Enquiries made at Dominion Scout Headquarters in Wellington indicate that there is no reason to believe that numbers will be limited to less than 300, and the Levin Scout committee is still hoping to raise enough money to send the three Levin scouts who are qualified to go. -■ As indicated above, results to date are very encouraging, and a great deal of assistance has been offered by individuals. and organisations throughout the district, but it is realised that there is plenty of hard worlc ahead'if the target of £500 is to be reached by June of next year.
