WELLINGTON, Nov. 13. Tlie despateh of a doctor, indualriai Bcientist and machinist to aid the Bailie tcchnical .training sclxools for Chinese industrial cooperatives, was approved at tne half-yearly meeting of the Dominion Council of the Organisations for Eelief Service Overseaa (Corso). The rcsignation of the chairnian of the Council, Mr. J. H. Boyes, was received with regret and apjireciation was expressed of his outstanding service to Corso. The acting chairnian, Mr. C. G. White, reviewcd the worlt of the Corso Greek unit, most of whose menibers are now rcturning after a year's service in Greece, and outlined the" scope of Corso 's China relief programme which involves sending botli personnel and relief supplies to that country over the next two years. More than £30,000 had : i:ow been raised for Corso funds, spec- | ial appeals in various centres since last ! council meeting lniving brought the following returns: Levin £150, Invercargill £1UU0, Napier £800, Milton £140, Wanganui £550, Hastings £150, Kaiapoi £100, New Plymoutli £400^ Taihape £100, Ashburton £230, Gore £320, Wellington £3500, Auckland £6300 and Hamilton and Cambridge, in a postnian 's drive last Saturday, £760 and £157 respectiveiv. In addition goods and clothing contributed through Corso for overseas relief, totalled in value well over £100,000. On the niotion of Mrs. H. J. McLeavey (W.D.F.F.) it was resolved to ask tlie Government for the frec rail transport in New Zealand of goods voluntarily contriliuted for oversea relief.
