Xo deiinite announcement regarding Soneri 's • programme for tlie New Zealand Cup. meeting has been niade. One suggestion is that she will run in the Stewards' .Ilandicap in which she has 9.13, and another is that her raeing will be conlined to the weight-for-age events. With 9.13 she miglit easily fail in the Stewards'. The oniy horse to win the ■big sprint Avith 9.13 was Arrowsmith (1920), while Glentruin mastered 9.6 in .1923, the occasion of her second successive winning appearance. Lord Nuffield also had 9.6 when he won in 1942. Soneri would be ou fairly safe ground in the -weight-for-age field and it will eoine as no surprise if she is roserved for those races.
