The abseiice of wet, humid weather that usually cliaracterises Auckland 's spring, has niade tliis season one of the worst for gardeners for many years. t'old winds have stunted tlie growth ot yoimg plants which were planted in very wet grouiid duriug the winter iiiniiths. In the more sheltered Auekiand gardens, peas and potatoes are groving slowiy but by 110 means as wcll as usual at this time of the year.
