PARAPARAUMU NOTES
r . (From "Chronicle" Correspondent) Several election meeuings nave been heid, when candidates expounded their political views to large audiences. A weli-attended meeting of . the Paraparaumu Sports Club was held in the "Dug-out," about 40 memDers being present, including several ladies. Owing to Mr. White's indisposition, Mr. Mowbray was in tne chair. The secretary, Mr. Howell, read the balance-sheet, .which showed a very satisfactory financial position with a credit of over £100. The following officers were elected: — Patron: Mr. W. Cromb; president: Mr. A. T. White; vicepresidents: Drs. Cameron and Patterson, and Messrs A. Hardham, Cromb, Eatwell and Caterer; secretary, Mr. H. Howell; assistantsecretary: Mr. W. Mowbray. Mr. G. Cluny was made a life member in recognition of, jdis services for the club. It was arraneed to have schbol sports in the Recreation Grounds on December,- 11th. .. Good whitebait catches continue to be made in the "Waikanae River.
