Personal Mr. E. A. Pullman, who is still in the Palmerston North Hospital, has undergone a successful operation. Mr. Carl Lutz, who has been.in hospital in Palmerston North for some time, and who recently returned to his home, is making steady progress. Brief Hail Storm ' After a firie but cold morning, a hail storm broke aver the district yesterday shortly after one o'clock, when hail the size of peas fell for a brief period. Beach Pavilion Mrs. J. Ballinger has generously made a donation towards the fund to liquidate the debt on the beach pavilion. Othe.r assistance would be greatly appreciated. Snow at Reikorangi - Both hail and snow fell heavily at Reikorangi yesterday, and snowballing was freely indulged in to the enjoyment of both old and young, while snow men were greatly in evidence. IVIrs. Thorn at Te Horo ! At the conclusion of her eloquent address, in which she outlined Labour policy, at the Te Horo Hail on' Thursday, Mrs. Margaret Thorn, wife of Mr. J. Thorn, Labour candidate for the Otaki electorate, was presented with a bouquet of exquisite roses. Recognition of Services In addition to the £5 dopated by Mr. Knight towards a presentation to Mr. L. G. Lowry, in recognition of his services as Membei of Parliament for Otaki over a long period, ten shillings has been forwarded bv "Mite of Gratitude." Any other donations will be accepted at "The Chronicle" office, Otaki.
