COMMERCIAL ASSOCIATION

MONTHLY MEETING HELD The monthly meeting of the Otaki Commercial Association was held on Wednesday night, Mr. W. McBeth presiding. It was pointed out that trees recently planted at the Tasman camp needed attention, 'and it was deeided to ask that the Otaki Borough Council assist with the work. Mr. Buxton was thanked for foregoing his commission of £3 7s on trees purchased. It was stated that there were no fresh developments in connection with the proposed memorial hall, but it was pointed out that members of the association had interviewed the council on the matter. Nothing further had transpired. It was deeided to ask the council to instal a water pipe at Tasman Beach camp. It was resolved to ask that the cherry trees on Mill Road be given attention. It was pointed out that pruning at an opportune time was necessary, and that the grass needed clearing from the roots. Attention was drawn to the Otaki State School flower show on November 28, and it was agreed to donate £1 ls towards the prize rnoney.
