CHRISTCHURCH, Nov. 7. A deputatiou from the New Zealand Women Teachers' Association coinprising the Dominion president, Miss O. N 1 Rains (Auckland), vice president. Miss j M. V. Kennedv, and secretary, Miss G. K. Jaruan (Christchurch ), waited 011 representatives of the Education De- ; partment 011 Wednesday to discuss alleged anonialies alfecting women ! teachers in the new salary scale. Points brought forward were: — (1) The increased dift'crence in the position and salary paid to a senior man and senior woman in mixed and contribu ti ng schools. (2) The laek of parallel avenues of promotion pr'ovided for teachers doing specialist work. (5) The increased differentation hetween basic rntcs paid single nien and women. Protesls from brauclies throughout the country had been received by the central executive of the Association and have been presented to the Education Department and Government.
