CHRISTCHURCH, Xov. 6. The death occurred at the Timaru' . I'ublic Ilospital this morning of the apprentice jockey, Douglas David Stovo, aged 13. .Stove was severely injured wlien tlirown from liis tuount Denini during Ihe runniug of the Orari Ilack Uandicap at the Geraldine Raeing OlulCs meeting at Geraldine on October 19. During the race Denim, second favourjte, attenipted to run olf towa^ds the box where liis stablemate Deiiary was quartered and jumped the outsjde rail of the course, and in doing so cps" lodge Stove, who landed on liis baek across the rail and tlien fell to the ground. Stove suirered severe internal injuries.
