♦ LONDON, Nov. 4. Mr. H. G. R. Mason, who -ieaves for New Zeaiand by the Lancastrian service on Thursday, reeently spent a week touring edueationai institutxons in England and Scotland, accompanied by Dr. C. E. Beeby, Director of Education. At Oxford, Mr. Mason was entertained by Sir Cyril Norward, president o'f Saint Jolin's Coilege, and visited the new Bodleian Library. He also inet Mr. Ronald Syme, formerly of Eltham, and now speeialising ixx archaeoiogy.' At Edinburgh, Mr. Mason was the,guest o'f the British Council, and dxscussed edueationai questions with Sir John McKay Thompson, head of the Scottish Education Department. Mr. Mason speeially inquired into methods of providing hot meals for children. He was interested in the system of ceutral establishments cooking for several schools and dispatclxing the food irn insulated containers.
