NORGROVE—LACEY

A wedding was recently solemnised at St. John's Methodist Church, Levin, when Phyllis W.ynne, elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. e. F. Lacey, of Levin and lat'e bf Blenheim, was married to Alfred Frank, only son of Mr. and Mrs. e. R. Norgrove, of Blenheim. The Rev. H. S. Kings officiated. The bride entered the church escorted by her father wearing an exquisite trained gown of cnampagne silk crepe and lace. The gown featured a lace bodice, gathered up the centre front, and a full crepe skirt falling into heavy folds, j thus forming a train. The skirt parted in the centre front to reveal an underskirt of lace. As her only ornament the bride wore an opal brooch, the gift of the bridegroom. Her finger-tip veil fell from a spray of flowers, aand her , beautiful shower bouquet was of orchids, tulips and freesias. The bridesmaid, Miss Dorothy Norgrove, sister of the bridegroom, wore a soft salmon pink organza frock, with dainty gathered bodice, the sleeves and bouffant skirt beiiig elaborately tucked. Her head spray and bouquet were of pink tulips, hyacinths, sweet peas and stock. The duties of best man were ably carried out by Mr. W. H. Christmas, of Auckland, who recently returned home with the bridegroom from service in Japan on board H.M.N.Z.S. Achilles. During the signing of the register, Mr. Lew Manning, of Blenheim, sang a solo. The guests were received at a reception in St. Mary's Hall by Mrs. Lacey, wearing a marina blue boucle suit with shoulder spray of pink orchids. She was assisted by Mrs. Norgrove, wearing navy blue with autumn-toned flowers.

For travellmg the bnoe cnose a hand-knitted white jumper, dress Stewart tartan pleated skirt, fur Coat and black accessories. The young couple will make their future home in Blenheim.
