Summer Sports Activity With the opening of the tennis season on Saturday, Shannon's [summer sport is now 'ha full swing. Over the weekend the local bowling greens were well attended, and two teams of cricketers played matches at Levin. The senior team, although defeated by College B, played a fair game. Tippler, Burke and Harris recorded double figures. New State Houses Surveyors from the Housing Department have been at woi'k on the site of the new State houses on the corner of Ballance and Margaret Streets. It is understood that the tenders for the new houses have been let, and a start will be made on construction as soon as the units in Grand Street are completed.
