DRIVE FOR SHANTUNG
BIG NATIONALIST PUSH Received Tuesday, 11-a.m. PEiPiNG, Nov. 4. The Government's oit'ensive against Chefoo has exploded into a fuil-scale campaign toi* the entire Shantung Provmce. The Nationalists are squeezing the Communists out of the Liaotung Peninsula, and have also launched a campaign against the Tsingiao-Tsinian raiiroad. The capture of Pingiu, nortn of Tsingtao, is reported. Shantung is one of the Communists' principal strongnolds m the north, anct the loss of that provmce would be a severe biovv.
