BOWATER MEMORIAL TROPHY The first round of the Bowater Memorial Trophy, which is a comoetition between the Levin and Central Bowling Clubs, was played jn Saturday last and resulted in Central establishing a lead of 15 points. The aggregate scores were vevin 109 and Central 124. Walker, McClune (s) 10; lost to Pine, Andefson, Parton, Sharp (s) 28. Young, R. Jones, J. Wilson, Wenham (s) 24; beat W. Mudgway, Fletcher, Hudson, Irving (s) 17. Ladies' Competition Pairs matches for the Lett jrooches, open to all members of he Levin Ladies' Bowling Club, vere commenced on Thursday last. The games will be played weekly throughout the season. Six pairs competed, and after some very interesting matches Mesdames 3agrie and C. Walker (s) proved to e the winners. Mesdames Lacey and W. Mudgway (s) have entered the pairs ournament to be held at Wanganui from November 12 to 14. (
