— Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Best left on Thursday evening to spend a holiday with their daiighter and son-in-law at Christchurch. Mrs. L. Dalzell, of Palmerston North, was a weekend visitor to Shannon as the guest of Mrs'. J. Hennessey, Bryce Street. Mr. Frank Thurston, of Plimmerton, was a visitor to Shannon on Saturday for the tennis club opening. Miss J. Pudnui, of Islarid Bay, Wellington, spent the weekend as the guest of Mr. and Mrs. D. Jones, Ballance Street. Mrs. D. Jones and her mother, Mrs. A. Kirkus, of Lower Hutt, are leaving this evening on a holiday visit to Auckland. Mr. J. Swindlehurst is at present at Rotorua furthering his studies in flax research work. He expects to ' return to Shannon this week.
