PASSION PLAY ABANDONED
Received Sunday, 7 p.m. BERLIN, Nov. 2. Oberammargau villagers have abandoned. the 1947 revival of the Passion Play, niainlv for lack of food and liousing for the visitors. In the last production in 1934, more than 400,000 thronged the village whose 2500 population is at present 5000. In addilion there' are castirig diffienlties. Otto Haser, ohosen to play the part of Christ, is at present, a war prisoner in the Russian zone of Germany. The 80 years old Alois Lahg who last played Christ, has been banned for pro-Nazi leanings. • r
