Roads Again Open
The Automobile Association (Wellington) advises that the' Desert Road, which was closed lasx weekend as a result of a heavy fall of snow, is agaip open for traffic. Both the Haywards and Akatarawa routes are also again olaefi. Learnt in Levin "Search'me I haven't got them," said Mr. J3. G. .Holland in Levin yesterday, when asked what had happened to the 250 tons of butter sent to Germany. The question was one of four submitted in writing and acknowl.edged |)y the Leader of the National Pani'y during. t.he course of his address. To another question as to why honey had been soid to Australia when it was unobtainable to Newr Zealanders, Mr. Rolland replied: "That's a n^w one on me. I had to come to Levin to learn that."
