OIL REFINERY FOR SYDNEY
Received Thursdav, 9.10 p.m. SYDNEY, Oct, 31. An agreement between the local Council and Bitumen and Oi] Relineries, Australia, Limited, eoncerning idans for the eonstruction of a huge oi! reflnery, wa? announced todav in the Land and V'aiuatiou Court. The refiiierv is to be erected on 42 acres adjacent Bunnerong powerhouse at Botany Bay, and the compauy .proposes to spend £700,000 on plant and buildings with the object of producing large quantities of bitumen and liigh grade petrol. The project, which has aroused much local ill-feel-ing, was opposed by the Randwick Muuicipal Couneil.
