Harper is on a holiday visit to 'the South Island. Mr. and Mrs. Gimblett have been visiting relatives in Hawke's Bay. Mr. Byron Brown is at present among the visitors to Otaki. Mrs. W. H. Henwood, after visiting friends in Masterton, will spend a holiday at Nelson. Miss Ross, of Wellington, is at present spending a holiday at Tasman Bea'ch. Matron Evans has returned from a vacation in Palmerston North. Mrs. C. Robertson is visiting her son, Mr. I. Robertson, of Hamilton. t Miss Whitehorn, of Wellington, is the guest of her sister, Mrs. Coventry, Tasman Beach. Mrs. and Miss Hauretree have returned to Napier after a sojourn renewing acquaintances in Otaki. ! Sister D'Atn, of the Otaki Sanatorium staff, is visiting her sister, Mrs. D. Ryder, -Hawke's Bay. Matron Hodges has accepted a relieving position in Wellington at the Hebrew Children's Home. Mr. E. A. Pullman, who is at present in the Palmerston North Hospital, is reported to be making a good recovery and hopes to return home next week. The funeral of the late Mr. "Wei" Gordon took place yesterday, when the cortege wqs a large. and representative one, including a number from a distance. The casket was covered with beautiful Maori mats, while" there were a great number ,of floral emblems. The service at the grave and in the church were con'ducted by the Rev. Father Hendren, while at the church the choir sang sweetly a popular hymn. The bereaved relatives have been the recipients of a large number of, sympathetic messages. Schol Children at ,Court At the monthly sitting .of the Magistrate's Colirt at Otaki on Thursday, a number of school children of the upper standards, under the guidapce of Mr. Townrow, attended'and evinced a keen interest in the proceedings, gaining knowledge that , will be usef ul in their studies.
