SOFTBALL SEASON
FIRST GAMES ON SATURDAY Promising to be one of the most popular summer sports in the Horowhenua district in future is softball. Last year the game had a large following and this year, judging by the keenness and enthusiasm displayed by those participating in the sport, it will have an even greater following. The first games in the opening round will be played on Saturday next and the following are the fixtures and grounds: — A grade: Achilles A v. Kimberley, at Levin, 3 p.m., Mr. Trueman; Ajax v. Otaki Aces, at Otaki, 3 p.m., Mr. Litten; Rakawa a bye. B grade: Otaki v. Achilles B, at Levin, 1.45 p.m., Mr. May; Ajax a bye. Ladies: Tui A v. Rakawa, at Levin, 1.45 p.m., Mr. Trueman; • Otaki A v. Otaki B, at Otaki, 1.45 p.m., Mr. McKinley. Secretaries are requested to note that all fixtures and handicaps will be published on Thursday or Friday in the future.
