AUCKLAND, Oct. 29. The withdrawal of his caiulidature for the Crey Lynu electorate for wliicli he liad been noininated in Ihe interests oi' the Democratic Lal)our Party, has been announced by Alr. ,T. A. Lee. He said that ill health in the family would niake the contest too punishing at pre sent and that at the f'orthcoming election he would content liimself witli ■ watching', wriling and Ifolding a m'eeting or two. Mr. Lee* said he was tired and in need of a spell -and that he also wanted a ' pause in which to write a book or Iwo. He deprecated anv alarm - ist rumours concerning his health. His close friends and associates were aware I of the d'iHicullics that had given rise i to his withdrawal and though they were j kcen to see liiin fight the election, they I had agreed to accept his decision.
