WELLINGTON, Oct. 29. There is to bc.no levy on the poultry imlustry for flock improvcment this year, the sccretarv of the New Zealand Poultry Board, Mr. S. D. List, anliouuced today. Eor.tlie last two years, during oue week of the flush period, a subsidv of 3d a dozen on all eggs marketeil tkrough authorised egg floors, liad been witlilield and paid into an account held by the Department of Agriculture. The purpose had been to provide finance for iiistruetors and veterinarian, and flock improvcment generally. Mainly because it liad been impossible to obtaiu a veterinarian, so far the fund had not been fullv used. The board had decided that no good purpose would be served in building it up further iu the meantime.
