Received Tuesday, 7.0 p.m. NEW YORK, Oct. 28. Sir Carl Berentlsen evoked the enthusiasm of many sinall powers by the vehemence with which hc attacked the veto. He spoke immediately before lunch hut the •'thin house" had been considerably expanded before he finished, by delegates re-entering the hall when they heard his salty phrase's and pieturesque similes through loud speakers in the lonnges and bars. Even the Russians smiled at his reference to the ^shotgun wedding" between the veto and United Nations Charter. His frank fears about the future of United Nations. while the veto power remains, imdoubtedly put into words wrhat the spokesmen of many other small countries feel but hitherto had not expressed. He received many congratulations in the hall and corrtdors as delegates trooped out for lunch. The United Press described the speech as the most forceful delivered on the veto to United Nations Assembly.
