Personal Mr. Tom Roach was a Shannon visitor to New Plymouth for the weekend. Mr. Pat Roach, of Wellington, spent the weekend as the guest of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Roach, Stout Street. Mr. and Mrs. John Barnett, Junr., were weekend guests of Mrs. Barnett's parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. Easton, Newtown. Mr.^, and Mrs. L. Wilson, of Taumarunui, were visitors to Shannon as the guests of Mr. and Mrs. E. Chester, Stout Street, for the holidays. Messrs. K. Wood and W. Robertson, of the State Forest Department, National Park, spent the weekend at Shannon as the guests of their respective parents. The Kiwi Spirit The honour of being the first person to make a voluntary contribution towards the Shannon district war meniorial goes to a returned serviceman from, World War II. This comradeship to his fallen friends shows the true Kiwi spirit. "
