Wilson, of Taumarunui, were visitors to Shannon as the guests of Mr. and Mrs. E. Chester, Stout Street, for the holidays. Messrs. K. Wood and W. Robertson, of the State Forest Department, National Park, spent the weekend at Shannon as the guests of their respective parents. The Kiwi Spirit The honour of being the first person to make a voluntary contribution towards the Shannon district war meniorial goes to a returned serviceman from, World War II. This comradeship to his fallen friends shows the true Kiwi spirit. "
