YACHTS IN DIFFICULTIES

AUCKLAND, Oct. 28. Witliin about half an hour this afternoon, the Waterfront Police, who have 110 boat of their own, were required to arrange for assistance to be sent to two yaclits in difficulty at either end of the harbour. A naval launcli had to be sent to the rescue of three young yachtsmen wliose 34ft craft -was cauglit in a squall and overturned off Chelsea wharf, while the Air Force authorities at Meehanics Bay were called on to despatch a launch to a point off tlio eastern end of Rangitoto Island where a Z elass yacht lost its tiller. After the two oceupants had been taken on board an attempt was made to tow the yacht up harbour but it siibmerged in the rough sea and had to be beaehed.
