PALMERSTON NORTII, This Day. j Adherents of racirig and trotting will hav'e much to interest them on Monday (Labour Day), when, besides the concluding day of the Wellington spring meeting at Awapuni, there will be several meetings in both islands. Stratford form today should be a good guide for Waverley on Monday, while Banks Peninsula running will be helpful at North Canterbury. A number of the horses racing at Rotorua today are also engaged at the Waikato Hunt fixture on Monday. The Harcourt Stakes, the weight-for-age classic of the second day of the Wellington meeting, is expected to provide a keen race' between Golden Souvenir and Soneri. L. J. Ellis is confident Golden Souvenir will hold Soneri. Without a guidance on today's running to assist in assessing prospects for Monday's single day meetings, recent past performances are relied on in summing up the Waverley, North Canterbury and Waikato Hunt fields. Prospects for these flxtures and the Harcourt Stakes are: —
