Maori Child Killed

A five year old Maori girl died from injuries received yesterday morning when she was struck by a motor car 011 the main highway about half a mile south of Paki Paki railway ^station. She was Rangi Kaewe ^Karekare, daughter of Mr. Hurikino Karekare, Paki Paki. The accident occurred at 11.15 a.m. and Mr. Karakare thought his daughter was in a parked cai! o'n the side of the road but evidently she was playihg on the .road just behind it. It is i thought she must have run out on - to the road as a car ariven towards ' Hastings apprqached. This car was driven by Raymond George Miles, of Ashley Clinton.
