LEAGUE MATCH DEVELOPS INTO FIGHT

AUCKLAND, Oct'. 23. A fixture arranged at Carlaw Park between the • Auckland Watersiders Eugby League foot-ball team and a Seeond N.Z.E.F. League team, was marked by persistent fighting among the forwards. The first spell was uneventful but in the second half tempers became frayed. A member of the N.Z.E.F. team dropped an opposing forward with a short right to the jaw. Further rough play followed and the ref(Sree then blew his whistle and left the field. Watersiders at this stage were leading 13 to 3. The Auckland Eugby League was not responsible for the game and merely made the ground available.
