The industry has been given almost watertiglit protection during the wai against new competition, and lie was told that fewer balftries than befoi'e tlie war were now sharing the bread , trade of the Dominion, with tlie obvi ■ ous result of enhanced turuovers foi nearly all bakeries. Mr. O'Brien reviewed the previout uegotia-tioua on the niatter and said, tha-t the Government had assured tlie bakers of adequate petrol anil tyre sujiplies to enable the deliveries to bt resumed. There Were also sufficieilt delivery vans to enable substantial re tail deliveries to be1 resuined.
