CRICKET STARTS TOMORROW

FIRST COMPETITION GAMES Play in the Hall Shield cricket competition for teams of the Horowhenua district will commence tomorrow, with seven clubs participating. The draw is as follows: Weraroa v. Old Boys, at Levin Domain; Otaki v. Paraparaumu, at Paraparaumu; Levin v. Colleg'e, at Weraroa; Shannon, a bye. The teams are: — Levin: Carrington, Hudson. (2), Galloway, Veysey, Easton, Meddings, McCormack, Milne, Juno and Dunlop. Players are requested to be on the ground by 12.40 p.m. 'sharp. Otaki: Rice, Cahill, A. Flutey, Hetherwick, McDonald, Hodges, Garrity, J. and R. Bartosh, Lindsay and Shernock. Emergencies: R. Windley and Giddens. Players are asked to meet at the Council Chambers corner at 12.30 p.m., owing to the match starting at 1 p.m. Any unable to make the trip are asked to advise Mr. Cahill as •soon as possible. Old Boys: Wiseley. Juno, Stevens, V. and R. Lynch, Rippin, G. Sciascia, Lancaster, L. P. Griffith, Judd and Munford. Twelfth man: P. S. Stannard.
