The invitation . of 'the, 'Levin Scbiit Committee to all intereste'd for .assis'tance in the , raisxng of hinds to send three Levin scoiits to the world jamb'oree, to.be held in Paris next year, is meeting with a wide appeal and local organisatio'ns are rallyihg to this worthy cause. At the Levin. Cbmbined Amateur Athletic and Gycling Club's ball on Wednesday e.vening, the presideiit (Mr. W. Cribb) said the club was op'ening its" se'asbn oh Noveniber 5 -with a special effort, ahd altho'ugh rio | charge would be made for admission, it was intended to take up a collection and donate the proceeds of it to the scouts' project. Mr. Cribb went on to say that the meeting wbuld featiire the first appearance of the riiarching teams of Levin girls. It would be the aini of the club to organise a procession through the town, headed by the Levin Municipal Band, Horowheiiua Scottish Society's Pipe Band and Levin Boys' .Band, and comprising the,xmarching teams, bqy scouts and cubs, girl guides and brownies, St. .John Ambulance Brigade, Levin Volunteer Fire Brigade and other organisations. They would proceed to the Levin Park Domain, where the marching teams would give an exhibition, followed by athletic and cycling .ev.ents,.
