DERAILMENT AT SHANNON

TRAN SHIPMENT OF PASSENGERS As a ballast train was coming ofl the loop line on to the main line at the horth end of the Shannon railway yards this morning, the engine tender and two wagons were derailed, blocking the main line. In consequence passengers on the train which leaves Levin at 8.26 a.m. and the 11 a.m. rail car were transhipped at Shannon to buses, which conveyed them to Palmerston North. It was anticipated that the line would be clear this afternoon.
