Reuter's correspondent says the British Government, who suggested the abolition to France, is contemplating* making', siniilar. jrroposals to other neighbouring European countries not ably Belgiuni and Holland. The abolition of the visas for trayellers between Britain and France is only tlie lirst result of Mr. Bevin 's campaign to simplify travel, says the Sunday Express. rrhe Government is prepared to abolish the permit system for nationals of any country prepared to do the same for Britons. Britain also wants United Nations to eall .an international conference to discuss the world wide abolition of restrictions. Britain aims at getting rid of passports as well as visas.
