Received Bunday, i p.m. LONDON, Oct. 12. - Tlie American Army will film the hangjng of Uoermg and other wai' c.riminals at Nuremberg on Wednesday and will snpply eopies of the film to Dritish newsreels, says the Eyening standard. The diarist says the qnestion as to whether the newsroel companies, should suppress the films or show them as a public divty, is bound to ea use a- wicle controversy. The diarist expresses the optnion that the films should' be suppressed and adds that it was unthinkable that thcy should be shown in einemas. Ile suggests that they should be kept oniy for record and an Allied certifieate that the hangings had been carried out. That should satisfy 99 of 100 persons that justiee had been done. General McNarney has issued a statement at Nuremberg that the film of the executions will be for historieal record piu'poses. The London film trade, meanwhile, is taking a great interest in the earlie;- suggestion that films and photographs will be distributed. The manager of one newsreel eompany publicly stated he had been informed he would be supplied with copies of the films and has asked the public for comnjeiit before deciding whether he releases them. Under stringent regulations announeed by tlie Quadripartite Uommission, the eight accredited correspondents who will ivitness the executions of tlie condemned Nazis will not be allowed to send out messages 'until they have returned to tlie press room after the eleventh hanging. Only offieial United States Army photographers will .be allowed to film the executions. The pictures will not be for publication.
