Mrs. L. Melville, who has been in the Palmerston North Hospital for some weeks, returned to her home on Saturday. Three new members, Mpssrs. D. J. Sweetzer, L. A. Whitham and J. S. Tomlinson, were inducted into the Levin Rotary Club qt the , club's weekly luncheon today. Mr. J. J. Maher, the National candidate for Otaki together with Mrs. Maher and family will be visitors to Levin on Wednesday evening for the Levin Combined Amateur Athletic and Cycling Club's ball. • ; .Captain M. B. Laffig, C.B.E., RJST., a- 'former captain of. the aircraftcarrier H.M.S.; Furious;: ahdv aivcer of wide experience in senior staff appointments, is to command the Dido class cruiser H.M.N.Z.S. Bellona on her New Zealand commission. Throughout the war Captain Laing had a tiistinguished record.
