Two Stars Join Matrimonial Ranks

After desertion for three years Geraldine Fitzgerald has obtained her divorce with the custody of her three-year-old son, Michael. ■ The Zachary Scotts have chosen the elopement town of Las Vegas for their vacation this month. Silent star Patsy Ruth Miller has divorced writer John Lee Mahin after nine years of marriage. Richard Ney, Greer Garson's husband, is to have the role of John Apley, Ronald Coleman's son, in "The Late George Apley." Walter Lang has been assigned as director for the new Betty Grable picture, "Mother Wore Tights." Greer Garson and husband Richard Ney are vacationing at Del Monte. Both are expected to return to work this month. The crew of "Arch of Triumph" gave a double birthday party for Ingrid Bergman and Charles Boyer, presenting them with a six-foot high birthday card and a cake five feet long. Richard Greene's first film role since the war will be in producer Gene Markey's "The Night the World Shook." Rex Harrison's next leading role will be in "The Ghost and Mrs. Muir" — a reversal of the part he played in "Blithe Spirit." Rosalind Russell's next picture for Columbia is titled "My Empty Heart" in which Melvyn Douglas will co-star. Charles Vidor will be the director and Virginia Van Upp will produce. He will make the trip upcn the completion of his current starring role in "The Late George Apley." Humphrey Bogart is the next of filmdom's greats. to. have his footprints placed in the cement of the forecourt of Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. The Warner Bros. star will report in his favourite pair of shoes, the ones he wore in "Casablanca," and with the gun he used in "The Big Sleep," both to be imprinted in the forecourt.
