MARKET REPORT
Messrs. Townsend and Paul, Ltd., fruit and produce merchants, Wellington, report that all varieties of fruit reaching the market are meeting with ready enquiry, those most keenly sought including hothouse tomatoes, Chinese gooseberries, passionfruit and citrus, with Meyer lemons and grapefruit being in better supply. Most vegetables, including beetroot, green peas, rhubarb, lettuce, celery, sprouts, asparagus, kumeras, hothouse cucumbers, marrows, beans, cauliflowers and leeks are selling freely, while new potatoes, pumpkins, good parsnips, good swedes and good carrots are making ceiling. Spring cabbage and silver beet are in plentiful supply, with prices easy in most cases. Seasonal flowers are in fair supply and are meeting with good enquiry.
