WELLINGTON, Oct. IU. Town milk producers will be asked by tlie national executive of tlieir federation to resist by all lawful means, the T.B. testing of their herds until .fhe jnatter of compensation and provision for extra costs occasioned thereby, ar.e. settled. A resolution to that effiect was passed at a meeting today of the executive of the Town Milk Producers' Pederaion, aceording to au official stateraent issued tonight. The stateineut said the producers were se.riously concerned at tlie Govern ment's action in proceeding with its proposals compulsorily to test town milk herds for T.B., without making adequate provisiou for the -costs whieli will be iucurred by the producers. No proviMon was made in the present price structure to take care of the cost of producing T.B.'tested milk. The producers were quite in favour of T.B. testing but did uot see why they sho.uld be called upou to bear any part of jthe cost of testing from the price which they held fell sliort of their full costs of production. The executive had already made representatious to the Government on the matter during the last few months and was endeavouring to eontact the responsible Ministers with a view to making further approaches for adequate cost compeusatiou.
