THE WRONG HORSE

An unintentional "ring in" nearly occurred at the Otaki meoting last Saturday. A well known Awapuni mentor, after weighing out his jockey, returned to the stalls and saddled up the wrong horse. Meanwhile the stable strapper was waiting patiently with the right horse at the other end of the stalls, and it was only a few minutes before the horses were called into the birdcage that the trainer became aware of his error.
