CHINESE BOUND AND ROBBED
HASTINGS, Oct. 5. - Two assailants, oue of wliom is befievod to have been carxying a gun, entered a whare near Clive occupied by a single Chinese, Jimmy Loo, also known as Loo Wing, and having bound h.im hand and foot, ransacked the dwelling and departed richer by £100 and a watch. The robbery occurred at about 10 o'clock last night. The two men thrust their way into the whare demanding that he give them money. They overpowered him and ransacked the dwelling removing the £100 in notes from a pocket in his clothes and the watch from a trunk in an adjoining room. Within threequarters of an hour Loo was able to f ree himself from his bonds but he was afraid to leave his whare during the night and accordingly went to bed. He reported the robbery to the police at 7 o 'clock this morning.
