ATHLETIC CLUB'S BALL
♦ — ELABORATE ARRANGEMENTS MADE An event that is causing quite a lot of excitement throughout the Horowhenua district, and one that is being looked forward to, is the forthcoming Levin Combined Amateur Athletic and Cycling Club's first , annual piain and f ancy dress ball, to be held in the Regent Hall, Levin, on Wednesday, October 16. The social committee has worked hard and can assure patrons of a first class evening's entertainment. Such a ball has not been held in Levin for ,many a long day, and amongst the many attractions will be Miss Irene Oliver's pupils from Palmerston North, who will entertain with a tap ballet and ballroom demonstration. The ballroom demonstration will consist of an exhibition of the modern and oldume waltzes and the ballroom rhumba. There will be novelties, paper hats, streamers and a savoury supper. Roy Lester and his band have been engaged to supply :he music for the dances, and prizes will be awarded for the most prigjnal and -fancy costumes. ."'""••'Arrang'emehts 4 are in hand to have the hall specially decorated for the occasion, and this alone will be worth the price of admission. Special buses have been engaged to bring patrons from Foxton, Shannon, Otaki and Palmerston North, and those desiring to travel on same must have their tickets clipped by the drivers, who will only carry ticket holders. Tickets are now on sale at various establishments in Levin, Otaki, Shannon and Foxton. — P.B.A.
