WELLINGTON, Oct. 6. Coming home 2min. I7see. ahead of his nearest rival, L. Fox, Canterbuvy, present holder of the New Zealand niarathon title, scored a eonvincing win in the 20-mile Olyinpie Gold Cup cross coimtry race at Trentham on Saturday. The plaeings were: Fox, 21irs. 14min. 27 2-5sec. 1; G. Bromley (Marton), 2hrs. 16min. 42sec. 2; T. Bartlett (ScottishWellington), 2hrs. lSrniu. 16sec. 3. The teams event was wou by Presbyterian, Wellington," 29 points. Wellington was the only other team to complete the courae.
