ARCHBISHOP AVERILL 81 YEARS OLD TODAY

AUCKLAND, Oct. 6. Archbishop A. W. Averill will be 81 years of age tomorrow. He said tonight he intended taking his birth'day qnietly but as usual would attend the Rotary Club's weekly Tuncheon. In about three weeks' time his yonngest son, Major Lloyd Averill, of the 9th Ghurka Regiment, would be arriving in Auckland from Malaya for four months' furlough, said Archbishop Averill. Major Averil], who served in the Royal Indian Navjr as a lieutenantcommander, transferred to the Indian A.rmy at the end of the war and is now an officer of the Colonial Service at Tauerloh, about 300 miles north of Bingapore.
