RAILWAY RETURNS
STOCK AND GOODS REVENUE UP The returns of the Shannon railway station for the four-weekly period ended September 14 show a general increase in the number of sheep and pigs railed from the station. Passenger totals are down on last year, this being brought about by the limited passenger transport. Goods revenue shows ari increase of £406 over the same period last year. The inward traffic discloses an increase in sheep railed to the station. The figures are as follows, those for the same period last year being given in parentheses: — Inward: Cattle 101 (553), sheep 1981 (523), other goods 841 tons (1132 tons). Revenue: Goods £780 (£1280) , parcels £18 (£19) . Outward: Passengers 1547 (3260), cattle and calves 3092 (3098) , sheep and pigs 3354 (1727), other goods 408 tons (366 tons): Revenue: Passenger £244 (£407) , parcels £12 (£37), goods £987 (£581).
