TRUCK DRIVER KILLED

AUCKLAND, Oct. 3. The driver of a light motor truck was killed when the vehicle failed to negotiate an aeute beud near Puni hall on (he Pukekohe-Puni road this afternoon. The victim was Manuel Lawrence Silva, aged 24, single, Soldiers' Settlement, Te Puni. William Forbes, aged 22, married, a brother-in-law of the driver, was admitted to hospital with a broken arm. A second passenger received shock and was given attention at Puni. The truck which was owned by Silva, was following the Pukekohe- Waiuku bus on which his mother was travelling. ^ilva intended to pick up his mother at ! the stop at Puni and drive her home. 1
