Received Wednesday, 9.50 p.m. SYDNEY, Oct. 2. Evidenee in defence of Major Charles Hughes Cousens was given today by Lieutenant-Commander George Herbert Henshaw, United States Navy, who said that Cousens wrote the most obvious double meanings into his commentaries of any prisoner in the canip, and several times was called before the Japan ese authorities and accused of sabotage. He knew about the letters received by Major Cousens from the Japanese Miss Saisho, and corroborated Cousens' evidenee concerning them.
