BRISK BIDDING AT DAIRY BULL SALE
HIGH PRICES EXCEED VENDORS' EXPECTATIONS Brisk jbidding and high prices marked tl(e eombined Manawatu dairy bull "and heifer sale held at the Showgrounds, Palmerston North, yesterday. The auctioneers, Mr. P. H. Weber and Mr, Neville Kettle, said that although some of the cattle were showing the effeets of a rigorous winter the sale was delinitely an improvement o.n last year's. Most of the stock was in good order and brought a ready sale with prices exceeding the vendors' expectations. Of 51 Jersey bulls offered, 39 were sold at an average price of 27gns., the two highest bids being 80 and 57^gns. Two Jersey heifers were sold at an average of 17gns.
